Business of Energy Seminars

The application for the 2015 Session has closed.

Are you interested in energy? Do you wonder about how much of our energy comes from traditional vs. renewable sources? Puzzled about how the electricity markets work? Curious about what it takes to set up a solar or wind farm? Would like to know more about the business of oil & natural gas extraction?

The Business of Energy seminar series, organized by the Kellogg Energy Club and NESC, provides information on commercial and economic aspects of energy and brings together students passionate about energy from across Northwestern. Seminars are led by Kellogg MBA students with experience in the energy field.

Seminars start in the 2nd week of October and take place from 5:15-6:15pm on the following days:
Tuesday 10/13: BoE Introduction and Overview of the Energy Industry
Tuesday 10/20: Energy Finance and Investment Decisions
Tuesday 10/27: The Oil and Gas Industry: The Competitive Landscape of Carbon
Tuesday 11/3: Renewable Energy and Government Incentives
Wednesday 11/11: Solar Value Chain and Storage
Tuesday 11/17: Electricity Transmission, Distribution and Smart Grid

If you have any questions please contact:

Applicants will be screening applications on the basis of relevant background and interest in energy. Attendance is compulsory and there will be a “2 and out” policy. We understand that classes and other commitments happen, so each person can have up to 2 absences. After two absences we will give up that person’s seat to the next person on the waiting list.
